It’s March 2018 and I have been as inactive as I can be on all platforms, including this one, and also in the musical side of things. My last active performance happened at the beginning of December in 2017, and that’s when I called it quits for live music for the time being. I love playing, but it has to be in my own terms and I found out the hard way.
So, in 2017 I played, enjoyed myself, and had a blast for the most part, but also realized that playing live is only 50% of the rush, and that the other 50% is bringing to life new songs that get people moving, so that’s why in 2018 I’ll be going deeper into my songwriting skills and actually craft tunes that carry a heavier emotional weight, I want people repeating the words that come to my head. It’s more than just playing guitar or “shredding.” (Wow… I’ve changed!)
So, what is it that I’m talking about, you ask? You see, when I released Weathering Storms, I wanted to test out my structural skills, come up with ideas and put them on a recording, but that was essentially a test for future reference. In reality, my mind has a lot more noises to make and they’re not only coming out of electric guitars, but all sorts of instruments, and with all kinds of influences, so I’ve been hard at work trying to find a cohesive centre for all the sounds and instruments, so that’s hopefully being finished by the end of 2018.
So, yeah, I have been busy with life, reaching new horizons and taking on more responsibilities, loving every second of it and looking for more. Hopefully you’re all having fun doing whatever it is that you’re doing.
All the best,
Alejandro Del Pino
